Erin Notstad, Registered Dental Hygienist

Erin recently moved to Houston from Wisconsin for the warmer weather and many career opportunities here. In 2005, she graduated from MATC in Madison, WI. Erin grew up on a dairy farm, the eldest of four children and, when home, loves spending time with her family. Erin loves animals and is constantly taking some type of animal home. Erin used to work at a veterinary clinic, and it was there, while cleaning dogs teeth, that she decided to become a dental hygienist. Erin says “I love my career and can’t imagine doing anything else! Helping people improve their oral health, and making them smile makes me happy and, as I hygienist, I have the opportunity to do that!”

Denise Powell, Dental Assistant

Denise has worked in dentistry for almost six years and it has been one of the greatest parts of her life. She does her job with a passion as it delights her to educate patients on the best oral care available. Denise is the mother of three (daughters Skiler and Elexis, and son, Christian) and her spare time is spent with her kids and husband, David, usually redecorating or landscaping!

Lily Alvarez, Dental Assistant

Lily was born and raised in Mexico where she earned her degree as a Medic Stomatologist (dentist) in 2000. She chose a career in dentistry because she likes to “help people, make them happy and see their happiness through their beautiful smile!” Lily practiced in Mexico until 2003, when her family decided to move to the U.S. as her father had been here for some time and the distance and lack of time with her father was difficult for the family. Lily desperately wanted to continue her career in dentistry, but due to differences in education and licensing, she could not practice dentistry without going to dental school again. A friend of her mothers suggested Lily become a dental assistant. She began taking classes and soon earned her Registered Dental Assistant License. Lily is also a member of the American Dental Assistants Association. Lily spends her free time reading, watching dramatic movies, biking and playing basketball with her brothers.

Norma Hernandez, Dental Assistant

Norma was born in Weslaco, Texas but raised in Houston and is the youngest of six. She became a dental assistant because she found it to be an outstanding career and an excellent growth opportunity. However, it has provided her much more than that. Norma says, “I have the opportunity to educate patients about the importance of oral health. I hope to continue my education so that I may provide a better future for my son, Christopher.” When she’s not working, Norma enjoys taking Christopher to the zoo or park.

Andrea Moreno, Hygiene Assistant

Andrea decided on a career in dentistry because she wanted a profession that helps improve the lives of others. A real people-person, Andrea looks forward to meeting new patients and developing long-term relationships with them. Andrea says, “I’m a very family-oriented person; I have three sisters and four brothers. Spending time with my family is one of my favorite past times.” Andrea’s hobbies include movies, working on cars and sports. Andrea and her fiancée, David, love spending time together, visiting different amusement parks and traveling.

Kay Christopherson, Treatment Coordinator

Kay has lived in Texas her entire life and is the youngest of eight. Her sister Ida is her best friend and they enjoy going out together on the weekends. Kay has worked in dentistry for over ten years with experience in practice management and dental assisting. Kay is currently continuing her education to fulfill her dreams of becoming a dentist and having her own dental practice one day. In her free time, Kay enjoys traveling, attending sporting events and spending time with her English Bulldog, Maximus.

Kelly Clark, Practice Director

Kelly was lucky enough to have grown up in one of the most beautiful places on earth - Moab, Utah. Since childhood, Kelly has had a strong interest in healthcare. After graduation, Kelly moved to Denver, Colorado where she started a life-long career in dental practice management. In 1990, Kelly’s fiancé was transferred here to Houston. Throughout her career Kelly has had the opportunity to work in practically every dental specialty but says “I find cosmetic dentistry the most satisfying. Working here at Memorial Park Dental gives me the opportunity to make the biggest difference in patients’ lives.” Kelly is currently working toward her Masters Degree in business management. In her free time she enjoys cooking, traveling, walking the family dog, a Beagle, Max, and terrorizing cats Redford and Harley. She is married to her “soul-mate”, Siamak and has a handsome, talented son, Collin.
