dr gene stevensonGene Stevenson, DDS, MS

I received my Dental degree from the University of Southern California, a Certificate in Prosthodontics, and my MS degree from the University of Texas at Houston. I am currently enrolled as a candidate for the MPH degree at the University of Texas at Houston. Since 1992, I have been a full-time faculty member at the University of Texas at Houston, Dental Branch. I also maintain a part-time private practice in Prosthodontics in the Houston area.

During my professional career, I have been the recipient of several Dean’s Teaching Excellence Awards, the John H. Freeman Outstanding Teacher Award, and the John P. McGovern Outstanding Teacher Award. He was conferred Fellowships in the International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists, and the Academy of Dentistry International.

My clinical and research interests relate to HIV/AIDS clinical care and other health care issues. I serve as the Director of Prosthodontic Services at the Bering Omega Dental Clinic, a community-based HIV dental clinic in Houston. I am also the former Director of the HIV/AIDS Dental Clinic Training Program, AIDS Education and Training Center for Texas and Oklahoma. I am currently involved with research in developing smoking cessation programs for dentists and dental students. And, I enjoy presenting lectures on various dental topics nationally and internationally.
